WHAT MY STUDENTS SAY
"New to gel printing, I took the plunge with Clare's Pushing the Boundaries course after seeing her on YouTube and attending a few workshops in 2025. This gave me the basics needed and confidence in Clare as a great teacher.
Botanicals attracted me most and it is so satisfying to develop and take further. Image transfer is tricky but again brilliant to further these techniques.
It was truly a delight to learn collagraph and collage on the gel plate, which I've discovered I absolutely love! Here's a beach scene I produced during this module."
Elaine
"I thought I understood Gel printing, but learnt so much more from Clare's open and helpful style of teaching. I love using botanicals but didn't realise you could preserve plants and reuse them or how to pull a clear print. I would highly recommend this course and am still developing my skills so will be joining in the next one too. Clare gives so much for free on her YouTube Videos but this is so much more and was worth every penny. Small numbers feel like you are getting one to one coaching."

This 10 week course is designed for those who would like to take Gelli Printing to the next level. You will go beyond making collage papers with the aim to pull frame worthy, fine art mono-prints. So if you are looking for more in-depth guidance into creating layers and exploring new techniques on the Gelli plate, pulling beautifully multi-layered prints then this is the course for you!
The course will commence on Monday 2nd March 2026. Detailed step-by-step videos will be released for each module every three weeks allowing you to work through at your own pace, accompanied by our biweekly coaching session.
Together, we’ll troubleshoot common challenges like:
- Paper sticking to the plate during multi-layer pulls
- Managing drying times between layers
- Creating balance and depth in your final compositions
WHAT MY STUDENTS SAY...

TESTIMONIAL
During this course, Clare gave us clear instructions on how to achieve a successful image transfer print on the gelli plate. We also printed botanicals and were guided in this by Clare too. I used both methods in this print and used some of my roll-off papers to provide the collage paper for the model's dress. I found the course very informative and particularly liked the fact that we could discuss as a group what went wrong and what went right.
Louise
TESTIMONIAL
This has been a wonderful course with so many exciting techniques to try and then use in your own artwork. Clare is a very good teacher and breaks things down into step by step phases in real time. Beginners and those more experienced with the gel plate will equally enjoy this course
Charlotte
When I began teaching gel plate printing 14 years ago, I used to tell my students, “If you want a tree here and a gate there, gel printing might not be for you — it’s an experimental process best suited to making collage papers.”
How wrong I was.
Over the years, I’ve pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with the gel plate, transforming it from a playful tool for background textures into a powerful medium for creating rich, layered, finished works of art. Through ongoing experimentation and refinement, I’ve developed techniques that allow for complex, multi-layered one-pull prints as well as beautifully resolved final pieces.
Let me reassure you, while I may be new to creating online courses, I’ve been teaching for over 18 years, both in community settings and within the FE sector. Clear, supportive instruction is at the heart of everything I do. I guide you step by step, using the same practical, down-to-earth approach as in my in-person workshops.
If you’d like a sense of my teaching style, I recommend watching a few of my YouTube videos. I keep things real, no over-polished perfection, but you can expect clarity, encouragement, and honest teaching throughout.
And one thing I can promise... No plinky-plonky music.
