Festive Gel Printing Workshop - NEW FOR 2026

Get creative this Christmas with a fun and relaxed in-person Gel Plate Printing Workshop at my studio in Ellesmere Port.

Gel plate printing is a simple and exciting form of monoprinting that doesn’t require a printing press. The results are immediate, and because every print is created by hand, each one is completely unique.

During this festive workshop, we’ll explore a variety of techniques for creating beautiful Christmas-themed gel prints.

You’ll learn how to use stencils to build layers of colour and texture, experiment with lifting wet paint from the gel plate to reveal interesting layered effects, and explore the concept of creating a one-pull print, where all the elements come together in a single, beautiful print.

We’ll have fun experimenting with colour, pattern, texture and composition to create a collection of festive prints. Your finished pieces can be enjoyed as artwork in their own right, or developed into Christmas cards, gift tags and unique handmade gifts.

No previous gel printing experience is necessary, whether you’re completely new to gel printing or already enjoy working with a gel plate, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to experiment and develop your own ideas.

What you’ll take away

You’ll leave with a collection of unique Christmas-themed prints, along with new techniques and ideas that you can continue exploring at home.

The workshop is taught by Clare Cosens, a printmaker, mixed media artist and fully qualified teacher. With a maximum of four people per workshop, there’s plenty of time for individual guidance and support.

All materials are included.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be provided. Please bring an apron or wear clothing suitable for getting paint on.

Cancellation policy

Bookings are non refundable, If you tell us more than 14 days prior to the workshop date, you can transfer to an alternative date or another similar workshop.

If you need to cancel your workshop with less than 14 days notice, your payment is non-refundable or transferable. However, you are welcome to offer your place to someone else, just make sure to inform us of their name and contact details before the day.
